Ferrothermal reduction of iron(III)phosphate insulating layers in soft magnetic composites

چکیده

In modern AC technologies, improving the power efficiency of soft magnetic core materials is a key factor. Powder metallurgy offers promising alternative for these applications: Soft Magnetic Composites are compacted iron-based powders, each iron particle being electrically insulated from its neighbours by superficial layer. Accordingly, thermal stability insulating layers used plays an essential role, because stresses and defects introduced pressing must be relieved heat treatment. The FePO4, which common barrier, limited. present study, degrading mechanism was investigated using mixture high purity powder FePO4·2H2O. samples were characterised wide variety analytical methods (DTA/TG, ATR-IR, XRD XPS). results show that ferrothermal reduction takes place, base material SMCs – metallic Fe acting as reducing agent.

Morphing soft magnetic composites.

Magnet filler-polymer matrix composites (Magpol) are an emerging class of morphing materials. Applications of Magpol can include artificial muscles, drug delivery, adaptive optics and self healing structures. Advantages of Magpol include remote contactless actuation, several actuation modes, high actuation strain and strain rate, self-sensing and quick response. The actuation modes of Magpol, i...

Magnetic and Electrical Properties of Nanocrystalline Fe85Si10Ni5/Phenolic Resin Soft Magnetic Composites

In this work, nanocrystalline Fe85Si10Ni5 soft magnetic powders were prepared by mechanical alloying and subsequent annealing to reduce the internal stresses and lattice strains. The powders were mixed with phenolic resin and warm pressed to produce nanostructured soft magnetic composites. The effect of annealing time and temperature on the crystalline structure, microstructure and magnetic pro...

Classical eddy current losses in Soft Magnetic Composites

1 a Corresponding author: [email protected] 2 This paper deals with the problem of loss evaluation in Soft Magnetic Composites (SMC), focusing 2 on the classical loss component. It is known that eddy currents can flow in these granular materials at 3 two different scales, that of the single particle (microscopic eddy currents) and that of the specimen 4 cross-section (macroscopic edd...
